The tactile nature of the resource keeps children engaged and their mind focused on their task. Children can use the tubs in a variety of ways such as: selecting a few items from one topic - either choosing specific items or items at random, using all the items at once from one topic, selecting a variety of items across a number of topics or using select items as a prompt to help children who have hit a writers block.

The tubs are split into fiction and non-fiction topics and can easily be used together or individually. The tubs are also great for linking into topics that are already being covered in school that term. Fiction tubs include: Under the Sea, Jungle, Pirates, Mystery, Space, Seaside, Fantasy, Explorer, Party, Farm. Non-Fiction tubs include - At Home, Weather, Minibeasts, People, Animals/Pets, Places, Transport, Jobs, Food, Clothes.
