This kit can be used in its own right or as an add-on for the Primary kit. This kit introduces ideas of how sensors can be used to monitor every-day situations and sound an alarm if the situation changes. There are circuits to sound the alarm if your bicycle has been taken, a rain detector which could be used as a bath level monitor, a light operated switch and a circuit to show if a window or door has been opened. Like all Cambridge Brainbox kits, the brightly coloured parts just clip together on a base board. This method of construction is quick, easy to follow and suitable for all ability levels. All the parts are colour coded and numbered so even children with learning difficulties can build the circuits. A manual detailing all the circuits is provided. Adult supervision is required with children under 8 years of age as there are glass bulbs and some small parts. The kit requires 4 AA batteries (not supplied).
