At The River, by Alison Jarred and Nadja Roelofs is a fun cumulative story about 'who's eating who' at the river. The on-screen books and activities are presented at two differentiated levels of ability.
After reading the story, children can learn more about the animals in a factual book featuring photographs of each sub-tropical river animal. The activities provide many opportunities for children to engage with the vocabulary and information. They include matching, spelling, sentence building, comprehension, sequencing events, text innovation, report writing and poetry writing.
