This interactive game teaches knowledge of word and spelling patterns in consonant-vowel-consonant words. It can be played against the computer or by up to 3 players. Pupils make words by deleting a consonant or vowel from a player's board and replacing it with a tile from the virtual table. The player making the most words wins. The game encourages strategic thinking and develops the key operations of phonemic awareness (matching, isolating, substitution, segmentation and deletion). Words can be read out for students requiring extra support. Teachers can select the font used and the number of words to be made per game plus monitor pupils' progress with the tracking facility.
