textThing Plus's key features are its capacity to differentiate texts through options, and the facility to provide learners with familiar texts. Activities, level of difficulty and support, speech, timed settings, colour and size of the font - and more - can all be configured. These saved settings can then be applied to the library of supplied texts, or to those you locate or create.
Although learners can 'peek' at answers and have texts read to them, this reduces their scores, so these features are used sparingly. As well as developing spelling, punctuation, word attack, memory and scanning skills, textThing generate on-task discussion.
