There are four levels included, giving a potential of sixteen messages, coupled with a total speech time of four minutes. Word or picture overlays are held in clear plastic pockets that are easily secured under the switch finger guard and can also be held in a custom ring binder. This feature simplifies changing the overlays for different levels.

All controls have voice prompts to ease operation, along with a volume control which can be adjusted from a whisper to classroom level. External switches can be connected to replace or augment the existing switches and the unit can be used to switch battery operated toys or appliances, in conjunction with a message if required.
