A clipart CD-ROM that can be purchased alongside the disc and book of the same name. 150 images from the book can be printed out or used on screen, along with an interactive map, and audio and video readings of the story by Kenyan broadcaster Topi Lyambila. The disk also provides pupils at Key stages 1 and 2 with source material for a wide range of literacy activities. Pupils can place new characters into the existing story, or use the images to write and illustrate their own adventures for the characters. Pupils can write their own non-fiction accounts; directions from Ziwa to Mombasa, people they meet on the dusty streets, recipes for Simba's favourite foods. Images can be a stimulus for poetry, matching rhyming words to names and using verse to describe characters and places.
